The boxes hold about 20 lbs of peaches. The Cresthaven peaches are "freestone" or "cling free" where the pit falls out easily. This variety is our most versatile peach. This peach is the favorite of many because they do not bruise easily and they hold up well for canning, baking and freezing, plus they are good eating, also, as they are sweet! Like all peaches, when you get them home, they will need to be laid out flat in a cool place (or refrigerated is best) with nothing on top of them. If they bruise, just cut around the bruise and enjoy the fruit. Some peaches in the box will be "greener" than others, but all will be ready to eat shortly after you purchase your box. We pick our peaches once the sugar is in and the peaches are ripe. Some will be ready to eat immediately. If you refrigerate them, eat the ripest ones first. We try to pull from our fridge and set a few on the counter so we always have peaches ready to eat daily.
